Room Rates at The Campsites at ‘s Fort Wilderness Resort
Forest Service campground among aspens, spruce and fir offers 17 campsites and one group site. It features culinary water and two vault toilets. It can accommodate RVs that are 24 feet long or less but does not offer full hook-ups. It lies near Woods Ranch, which boasts a children-only fishing pond.
Tent sites may often have a small electrical hookup, but most of the time, it will be a basic site with a picnic table and firepit. RV and travel trailer sites can have much more. These sites can have shaded awnings, full electric, water and sewer hookups, cable TV, a fire pit and picnic table.
Fees are subject to change and applicable California state and local taxes. Reservations are accepted 7 days a week in the off season, and Monday — Thursday 9am — 3pm in season. To make a reservation, call Reservations are taken and confirmed in person, over the phone or by email. We must receive your reservations request at least 1 week prior to the indicated date of arrival. There are coin operated hot showers in the Olive Grove restrooms and water faucets at various locations.
RV units that are self contained may use regular campsites. Group Campsites are primitive camping areas, which have picnic tables and a large firepit. Check-out time is 12pm. You may check into your site before 2pm on your arrival date, if the entry kiosk indicates that the site is vacant.

Shares 47 Travel dates: Gettysburg, though, has an abundance of close, well reviewed campgrounds, and we had a little trouble making up our minds which one to try. Which is a nice problem to have, of course. In the end, we went with Gettysburg Campground because…. But, at any rate, we were mostly pleased with our choice. Gettysburg Campground is a big, bustling place with tons of amenities and activities, and even an onsite RV repair place.
We were here for two nights midweek in the middle of June. One interesting thing to note is that check-out time here is 2: Good Sam discount offered. And some quirks of our particular site are the only real issues we had with the campground. It was a little awkward to figure out how to get into it, and we ended up having to kind of make a loop around the campground to get lined up right.
And then we discovered that our site and the site next door shared a utility pole i. Reservations Reservations for the Furnace Creek Campground are available for the camping season of October 15 to April 15 by calling or visiting recreation. Reservations must be made at least 4 days in advance, but can be made up to 6 months in advance. These opportunities are available in person at the kiosk only. Will there still be a spot? What do I do? It is very rare for all campgrounds to fill in Death Valley. Sure, all of the “good sites” may be taken during busy times, but there is typically space at Sunset Campground no tables, hookups, or firepits even during the busiest of times.
The high season is from November through March as well as all holidays from October through May. Backcountry Camping is an option for those who prefer more solitude and follow Leave no Trace principles. Regulations Campsites are limited to no more than eight people and two vehicles or one recreational vehicle per site. Larger groups wishing to camp together can reserve group sites at the Furnace Creek Campground. All vegetation in the park is protected.
